What to do with your stories

It is difficult to get published, but if you really want to, why not write an article for your favourite magazine (that’s how I started). Or write a story or a poem as a birthday or Christmas present for someone special – I bet they will treasure it for years – much longer than a packet of bath salts!

Enter competitions – for details look in your library, your local bookshop, ask your teachers, or look on the web for festivals and local events you can enter.

Look up www.artscouncil.org.uk and sign up for a (free) regional newsletter to know what’s on in your area.
